Can anyone tell me if my recently purchased 1989 F Plate VW Golf GTI 1.8 Clipper Soft top motor can take unleaded petrol if it's got cast iron or alloy head

should do, my 83 GTI and 89 1.58 carb took it with no worries, so does my 87 1.8 carb
