Correct Unit
I ordered a replacement windscreen motor from VW Heritage for my three door Mk1. It didn't fit and I didn't get a refund as they said it was the right one. So I ask is there more than one type for the entire Gol Mk1 range. I'm fed up with wipers only operating at full speed. Or could there be another reason as the thing only operates at high speed???

Full speed in any position of the switch, or just the hi-speed side when the switch is inHigh speed. If the Low speed side also goes high speed then I would suspect the relay over the motor.
As it could be a bad relay.

The Wiper motor only works when the switch is on high speed high speed. Then there was the second part of my post. Was there more than one type of motor used across the MK1 range?

I suggest that you take the time to test the Motor that it is fully functional
See the Bentley Section 13-19
See if the inputs are correct.
Then use the Bentley to Test the Switch.
The Relay controls the low speed function, so don't discount that as a failure point which s why I said to check this in my first post… But lets just use a DVOM and see what is good first.
There are threads here abut using the mk3 relay in place of the MK1 and you can get programmable delay speeds.
