Window scraper

Hi, Just to be on the safe side. I have just obtained a genuine VW window scraper for my three door. The size provided is correct length for the inside but needs to be trimmed when fitting on the outside, is that correct?
Also where can I obtain a replacement right door handle? that is without going to VW which is rather expensive. 

Yeah just trim to required length.

I bought Febi door handles, they seem ok. £12.50 each so better quality than I expected to be fair
