Fuel sender alternative Cabrio gti 1.8 Dx

My fuel sender no longer worked as the varable resistor broken. I could not fiind a replacement anywhere so bought Fuel Tank Sender Unit 1582980044 Bosch Gauge 717363265.
A bit of tweaking and soldering and hey presto.

remove old sender

Bend tabs to remove old variable resister and arm.

Add new resister and arm. Make sure it can swing freely


Solder wires to old points

I used a cable tie to make sure it stayed in palce.
Job done.
