Fuel lines

Post

Looking for opinions

I currently own a 1.8 carb but will eventually be a 1.8t

I about to run new fuel lines on the car as tank is out and floor has just been raptor coated.

What's people's thoughts on new fuel lines

Rubber
Braided
Cupronickel

Thanks stuart

When I am not buying parts I will be looking 😆

Personally i would rather a rigid line, but i dont know if they are readily available, which would mean make your own and would then need a flaring tool.   But i know CQ makes braided lines to suit the job (1.8t into mk1 ) so would buy those,  as i have before..

Carbed cars don't have the pressures that the injected ones do that is the CIS which is greater, but if I was running them under the car from the tank, I would be doing Steel… the double flaring tool is great but so is a Pipe Bender so you don't kink the lines.

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Where are my DIY Links?

Steel ? Was that what they were originally ?

Seeing how rusty tintop gti lines can get i would say steel is a fair assumption..

I wouldn't even bother with rubber, the fuel just eats it, especially when it comes to more premium stuff

It isn't the fuel per say that eats it, it is the alcohol in the blend.
If you go with any rubber piping ot hose make sure that it is e-15 or better rated.
