Engine rebuild

Hi all,
Not posted in a long while but I'm still here.. My Mk1 Golf cabriolet is in need of some tlc. The engine, whilst starts and runs well, is very tired and severely down on power…
Any recommendations for an engine specialist in the North East? It's a 1.8 GLi with the 2H engine fitted.
I'm thinking of a complete rebuild while it's off the road till spring..

PS - I've tried to get new injectors for this particular engine but really struggling - thoughts..?
