Slightly shaking on front of clipper
After much searching I have finally purchased my 2nd Mk1 Golf Clipper.
On my longest drive I noticed a slight shaking on the front end, I've had all wheels balanced and it is slightly better but still noticeable by me.
Can anyone advise a reasonable next step. This car is immaculate and fully checked over, but some comments on the forum say it's common.
Not sure if I should approach my garage yet.
Thanks in advance. Raynor

Alignment, bad strut mount or bad inner or outer tie-rod ends.
bad tires all come to mind.
bad wheel bearings as well.

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?
They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Mine shook like a wet dog when I bought it, but the tyres were harder than a hookers heart, now at 28psi comfort reigns.

I took it in on Friday and had all 4 wheels balanced with positive comments from the mechanic about the condition of the wheels and under the car, (can't exactly recall the terminology he used). The tyres are at the correct pressure and brand new.
It's only a slight shake since the balancing was done but I just want to be 100% sure.
I will investigate further with my mechanic. Thanks for your quick comments.

I hadn't driven a Clipper before March (except for a short drive 10yrs ago). My Clipper shook, I had the wheels balanced and tyre pressures reduced. I still find the front a bit skitterry at times and it crashes down potholes, I take that to be the nature of an old car with the roof cut off. It is lowered slightly and running on 195/50/15 Bridgestones. It still feels sophisticated compared to my Mk1 Escort on 175/50/13's (although is not in the same handling/poise league!). My 2018 Skoda Karoq makes both of them feel like traction engines in comfort, but the driving involvement is removed, so 1974 crude. 1992, less crude, 2018 smooth. Do you know anyone with a Clipper to make a comparison?

Update: the car passed it's health check today with just a coil to replace before it breaks.
Thanks for all your advice, happy motoring ahead 👍

Replace both sides coil springs, not good practice to just replace one.
