Spring Action day - Castle Combe

Anyone going to this track day sponcered by Golf +?

I'll be there, I love a day out at combe  8)

Never put mine on the track before (too chicken), but I know a few boys that will be  :twisted:

Jodie Harris (owner of Dubvelopments) will be putting his Golf Rallye on the track. It's got a TT engine with a new large turbo and loads of other mods and if he can set it up in time, should be running at about 400BHP  :evil:  :clap: , so that should be interesting to see  

You always get some cool quick MK1's on the track too  :wink:

Coombe is only about 30 mins away from me so ill be trying to get their too, Jodys car is supposed to be a monster, so i,d like to see it around the track, may see you their, if i can get the day off work, i suppose its a Saturday?

Might even take the Camera so pics may be available

I will be there too, we could make it a sort of meet.

I'll be their, i hope, but i may have the wife's Mk3, as she's coming with me, she says i drive the Mk1 too fast! I really want to take it though to see if i can get any interest as its gonna be up for sale soon.

Where do I find out more details about the day please?  I have spent the last three months in deepest, darkest kitchen rebuild land  and am starting to lose the will to live - HELP!!  Wanna get the car out of the garage now. :wink:

So where's everyone else based in this thread, im from the Forest, where we don't really have roads, just horse and cart tracks, in Glos, i never see other Mk1's in my area. And what time you getting on the track Bronze, or you not telling?

Just found the Golf+ website and got details for the Castle Combe day.  I know you probably already know but the GTI Spring festival is the next day - which of these would be the best day out?

Both should be good but in different ways,

i live in severn beach right at the bridge, so we could meet up and drive over to castle coombe.

What time you thinking about going?

I haven't decided which to go to yet - think the GTI day may win out though - seems a little more family friendly!

I think it usually starts around 9am and goes on all day  8)

It's not just VW's, but it's similar size vehicles. So it's usually really good to see Golfs up against Fords and vauxhalls (sorry for swearing   )

I'll be putting my car on the track in the morning session. I'll be easy to spot as I'll probably be the slowest one on the track    It's my first track session too.

Hope this info helps, we'll be having a convoy over from Newport no dough, so we could always meet up with people the other side of the bridge  8)

I'll find out leaving times in the next week or so and let you all know.
