i wanted too but theres no way the golf will be ready in time, and if i went down in my normal car i`d get depressed lookin at everyone else in their cool vw`s. :cry:

I'm hoping to, although I havn't booked tickets yet.

Should be me in my golf, and my mates going in his mini!  Also depends on getting time off work!

I'm going on the Friday in my MK1 and my Uncle and mate in his Beetle Where's the show n shine car park? last year we went and there was hardly anybody there we just parked in the town centre car park and left it there didn't look around any dubs

the show and shine car park is by the fire station just head into town and bear left at traffic lights it will be sign posted from there, if ya fancy a vw show children freindly pop down to vw jamboree in aug we always take the kids and theres lots to do for them

Anyone going to be joining the cruise that goes down? I'll be joining it at Taunton Dean services was really good last year, more details on the RTTS website

erm not too sure about the cruises, going to be pretty drunk i think, will be doing the show and shine session though. only thing is, i recall the entrence to the estate having rather large speed humps not full ones either them ones that are broke up into 3 sections and i struggled last time i went and its even lower now. will see how i get on though.

i should be there with any luck depends on work if not will try and get down just for the day as its only about 90 miles from me  :starwars:

I think everyone leaves Taunton Deane services at aboud midday on the Friday. We got there for about 11 last year, was nice to walk around the car before leaving although at about 10 to 12 we went to the toilets and when we came back out everyone had left without us! lol

Don't quote me on that though, there never seems to be much said about the cruise so just keep an eye on the forums especially VZi and something will pop up.

Simon - Are you going to be joining the cruise? would be good to drive down with other MK1's

cheers im really excited my little banger is lookin sweet this year just one problem at the mo i need new brakes and want to stick with performance discs but money is tight and im doin this lol i need to find myself a mechanic and marry him its the only way ill be able to afford to eat!! This is a pic of her look out for us (i have a big orange RTTS for my window so u wont miss us) and any suggestions about those brakes welcome hope to see you guys on the cruise.

Nice MK1 you have there I'll be sure to look out for it and make myself known

As for the brakes, in my opinion unless you are running lots of power the brakes on the MK1 are quite capable and I wouldn't of thought you would see a lot of difference between performance discs and normal ones aslong as the brakes are working properly. Have you tried GSF? I had Brembo discs from them on my MK4 Polo and were really good and well priced.
