Annual Mk1 OC Show 26th-27th July 3 DAYS TO GO!
We are thrilled to finally anounce the Mk1 Owners Club Annual Show details:
N.B CHANGE OF VENUE
This year the Annual Show will held on the weekend of 26th and 27th July at Billing Aquadrome, Northampton. http://www.billingaquadrome.com/events.htm
The show will include the AGM, Show and Shine, Autojumble and Traders and is a camping event.
Camping is available on the Friday night (at extra cost) for those of you who wish to make a full weekend of it. There are many things to do at Billing making it the perfect opportunity for all the Family. For those of you who may not enjoy the great outdoors there is a hotel next door: http://www.premierinn.com/pti/hotelInformation.do?hotelId=24213
Entrance and camping is ?13 per car (up to 6 people, 1 pitch) for the whole weekend, payable to Billing. A one day ticket is ?10 per car (up to 6 people ). HOWEVER, members will be subsidised - for each member that subsequently produces their membership card to a check point at the entry to 'OUR' field, will be reimbursed ?5. (A nifty fiver to spend on raffle tickets - otherwise we will bug you all weekend until you do! )
Some questions answered for clarification:
The show is to be held on the field they call "Shellduck 2". If you decide to pre book your pitches via Billing please quote this and that you are attending the MK1 Golf Rally.
The marquee has electric from the mains which is different to camping hook up but still close to all the action. It is positioned really well on concrete, meaning that there will be no need to siphon the Chairman's car!
Electric hook up is not available on our field, however the fields that do have hook up are on the edge of ours, very close… we would recommend that you pre book mentioning the show. (?17 per night)
There are also static caravans available via Billing reservations itself… Please call them for rates…all new and sparkly apparently. A great alternative if you're not a camper.
There is a petrol station literally round the corner, so no excuses not to attend the Rally that Ant and Rajan have organised for the Saturday afternoon.
We have also organised a few kids bits and bobs, colouring competition, ice cream van and face painting! So make sure you bring them all along! There are loads of water points about for someones paddling pool!
If you are not wanting to enter Show & Shine then you can enter a Regional Club Display if there are a few of you. If neither of these suits you there will be an allocated area of parking. The Show & Shine is a appreciation of all your cars, and although will be judged, not perhaps as scrutinising as some shows.
Please bring your membership card along to make the reimbursment of ?5 to each member alot easier. If you are not yet a member - no worries you can join on the day!
Answers to some further questions:
Have also updated page 1 of the thread so all will see.
* Billing rates for camping are ?13 per night, so anyone who comes down/up on the Friday night will be charged an additional ?13 per car. (effectively the 'show' with one night's camping costs ?13). Still a pretty cheap ?26 for 2 nights camping and the show.
* Anyone towing a Mk1/vehicle will not be charged for the additional vehicle - HOWEVER if the towed vehicle exits and reenters Billing on its own steam, you will probably get charged again, as it will not have the original 'pass' issued by Billing. (The camper/motorhome pass is different to a car pass).
* If you decide to prebook, please mention you are with the Mk1 OC Rally to get then special rate of ?13 per night.
* Electric hook up at Rally rate is ?17 per night.
TIMETABLE: TBC

If you are not a member yet, don't worry you can join at the show!
Please watch this link for further details…. please post any questions and will answer as soon as possible.

Oooh, may get myself down there if any other Northerners are going.
Hmm, weekend after the Landrover Monthly show. I'll wind up the suspension to get through the ruts.
