Lap times and video's
Just thought I'd stick this up to see if there's like minded Nurburgring fans.
A thread to post up your latest Bridge to gantry times and maybe a video to back it up. Might help with a brief spec of your car too(don't get carried away lol.
I'll start us off with my latest lap from May 2015.

Old Timer
My fastest lap without a shadow of a doubt was a race instructed lap in a 146BHP stripped out suzuki swift (track hire car), where I would have been in the slowest 10% of the day, which was possibly bad timing as thre were 'real' drivers there testing at the time in some silly fast cars.
I doubt if I made the same time as you. even with a knowledgeable racer giving me advise from the passenger seat. our go-pros failed due to the hire company fogetting to charge up the night before.
Its an annual pilgramage for me. Albeit, normally bike biased.

I headed over to the Ring in July and managed a sub 8 (just!). Full feature should be in PVW in the next few issues and video footage to follow shortly.

Sweet. Any more pics and spec of car mate
Cheers dude, hoping to have a full feature in PVW next month but basically it's a 1.9 20vt using Emerald and a Jabbasport IHI to get to 340bhp. Caparo 325mm 4 pot brakes, 02J with Pelequin diff. The list is endless but you get the idea!

Duncan, will you be racing your mk1 next season?
Possibly, the last time it raced was 2009 with just track and test days since then. I had a loose attempt at selling it last year and will have another go over the winter. If it doesn't go then I'll probably do a few races in it next year. Possibly Time Attack too but most likely be the Quaife Motoring news championship where it's done really well in the past.

What about any of the classic VW races?

There is a chance of the classic CBT VW series running an extreme class which would be ideal as their current class A is limited to 225bhp per ton (from memory!) which is too low for me. I'd try the VAG Trophy but again that's too low as well and there are question marks over how well the regs are adhered too so currently staying clear. I did a few classic touring car rounds in the invite class which was good but the money involved was obscene. If the CBT VAG championship confirm the extreme class I'll be in!
