Wich gearbox on ABF

I have Golf mk1 ABF and I am wondering wich is the best gearbox for accelaeration,becouse I am making this car for 1/4 mile racing.
Maybe 4 speed from mk1?

How much power, and what other mods will be done to the engine - ie, what's its power delivery characteristics going to be? Which wheels and tyres will you be using, and will you want to use 3 or 4 gears to reach the 1/4 mile?
