Vacuum pipe from inlet manifold to brake servo
the engine is on,.the wiring is done I think
but I'm stuck on what to do for the pipe that goes from the inlet manifold to the new mk2 16v brake servo I've fitted. As the picture shows, the original mk3 pipe is far too long. Is there one from a different model I could use, or do I cut it carefully? Problem being the cut needs to be roughly where the covered nipples (green) are.

cut the plastic pipe where the ribs are, then find a nice angle hose to bridge the gap. i used a combo of mk1, mk2 and mk3 bits cut n shut. on the servo end i used a mk1 non-return valve thing or whatever it is then rubber hose from there to a mk3 non-return

Cheers, I just wondered if there was a magic pipe that fit ok. I was going to run the vacuum pipe from the back of the clocks to one of the nipples, is that ok?
Hopefully my new brake master cylinder will arrive today so I can fit that and the vacuum pipe, then I can try and start the engine. I've already tried but no fuel was getting to the fuel rail. I've been busty reading other people's questions so I'll see if I can get it working, otherwise expect a new thread appearing soon! : lol:

there may be but if you have the bits lying about youre ok, just run the engien and watch the pipe to ensure it wont collapse under vacuum. rad hose is usually ok for the job, breather hose usually not.
vac nipple is whrere the clock vacuum pipe needs to go aye

I ended up chopping off almost all the mk3 pipe and using the original Mk1 valve and then connecting the Mk3 flexi pipe to the end to get this:
