Suspension advice
Im getting towards the completion of sorting the shody welding the car came with on my 16v project so next thing is what suspension do i fit, ive had a browse of FAQ's but nothing in mind off that the car will spend most of its time out side on the track but will if the weather suits make apperance on the roads for a few meets. I really am looking at coilovers but which ones between ?5-700 is about the budget. Ive looked at Kw (expensive) Fk, Gaz, H&R what can anyone recomend to me?

hi there mate,
im in the same situation as you. Theres so many to choose from but from what i can gather the ''High sport coilover kit'' is a popular choice and towards the bottom of your budget.

FK highsports are a very popular choice - I'm not sure whether I've heard of any people complaining about poor fit / ride etc either.

Hello
I have FK high sports on my car I got them from venom motorsport for 400. I had no problems fitting them what so ever. If anything for the road the rebound damping is a little bit too slow but I can live with it as these are cheaper than your budget I suggest getting the FK Koningsports which are just the same but have koni dampers so have adjustable re-bound and I think they are around ?550. I highly recommend the FK's what ever you choose stay away from any made buy companies with sport of max in the name.

Fk's are seeming to be popular, Koningsports having the adjustable rebound seem to be about the best while highsports seem to offer a good set up for the money. I think an eve searching the net for the price on both kits and then see how much ive got left after the addition of some bug pack bushes……. Spoke to Jay at Big Boys Toys about suspension but judging buy prices ive seen in this thread for the highsport kits i can prob find the koningsports for bit less with some effort?

hey i had the lowest budget supersport coilovers on my car!!! and uprated to koni coilovers... have to say not much different in the handling on the car, just gives more of a comfortable ride for daily use!! (not as hard) so im thinking about converting back to the harder ride!!!!

No worries Dan69 ill be having a good hunt over next week or so, ill pm you if i come up with anything. I think for long term plans after the 16v lumps been done if cash allows a 1.8t mite be dropped in and that will have to be a road car just to laugh at scoobies etc when i pull away from them also the 16v will be one the road aswell as track so while funds allow im thinking ill go the hole hog now?

i have had fk highsports also, ( just to prove they are popular) For about a year now, and no problems at all, can lower and higher if i need to anytime, 1 thing ill say though is that they are going corroded already & slight biy of rust. apparently the next ones up arent supposed to do that as fast.
