STOPPPPPPPPPP!!!!! BRAKES!!!!!

Brakes!

I've got some 256mm Brembo items now complete with Pagid fast road pads.

I need to get some calipers and carriers.

Can anyone recommend a good setup to go with the above?

Would new hubs or adapters be better?

Thx in advance!

Keep original hubs & get some gm (vauxhall) callipers & carriers… Do a search for a guide.

To be honest (not tested yet) ive got the uprated master cylinder and servo, matched with black diamond combi discs, predator pads and braided hoses.  Ive been advised that this is all you need for a decent upgrade to happily handle a tuned 16v upgrade (160 odd bhp i reckon).  All cost me no more than ?220. Saves hunting round for caliper carriers and means you can run standar ish wheels…

He's already got the 256mm discs and matching pads… Will be able to pick up some gm calipers/carriers for ?25ish. But I would definitely recommend the 16v m/c & servo - and steel braided hoses. Put them on and forget about them…

They will fit onto the mk1 hubs which in turn attach to the suspension struts… It's the spacing between the holes on the hub and the carriers which need to match up and the gm ones have the same spacing as mk1 / audi 80 ones…

They will be fine. You only need to get some special sleeved bolts. Search the forum for the gm calliper guide to show you what you need and how to do it…

It all fits on but you need special carrier bolts - 10mm thread with 12mm shoulder - speak to manicGTI (dave) as he is going through this now.
