servo 16v?

Hi, I'm after some advice….i  have bought a new 16v master cylinder(89
on) to do the brake conversion but just wondering if the servo has to be a particular sort or will any 16v vw do eg jetta passat corrado??
Also is year important?

Have already had a 270m brake kit fitted but just want to finish the upgrade off with the m/c servo.Is there any adjustment needed to the linkage bar after fitting?
Have read different threads about using a t-piece and scirocco brake switch to get over the differences between the cylinders,are there various ways around it or is it just personal preference?
The car is 83 y reg
