Scirocco 16v Inlet manifold

Need an expert :)

Hi,

This may well have been discussed before, but im interested to know about the various inlets manifolds available for the scirocco 16V.

I have a 1983 Mk1 with a 16v lump, at the moment its running the standard MK2 inlet, feeds from the left of the engine bay. as you know to make this fit you have to heavily mod the air box and sit it on the chassis leg. i would like to get the inlet back to the right side. to do this there are a few options

Scirocco 16V inlet
    40mm
    42mm
    50mm
or get the MK2 inlet flipped and welded, saw a guy had done this on a Corrado, but cant find any info on who does it, ir how its done? looked like a pretty good job, only issue was the 16v DOHC was on the underside LOL. not a mojor deal.

Must admit im toying with the 20vt idea, but saying that having a right feed inlet also would give me the option of fitting a supercharger. any info and advice would be great.

Cheers

Rob

Its not just the scirrocco manifold you need , also the rubber boot and injector lines which were the actual parts i found hard to source, and not too cheap, i would modify the mk2 golf ( for financial reasons)large bore manifold for 2 litre or smaller bore for 1.8. I did one my self, cut it and flipped it over, not too difficult if you have access to a tig, but depending how its cut it dosnt just all line up.

Thanks for the info, yeah i didnt think of the additions! mine has the steel injector pipes as its a later engine, been trying to source some braded injector pipes like the early 16v used to have, should have grabbed some when i had the chance down the scrappy about 5 years back DOH. i guess with them you can re-position the metering head easier.

Thanks again :)
