Aaah right - I kinda see where you're coming from, it would be cheaper to replace the whole lot with aftermarket ones than replace each of the stock individual ones.
Pretty sure the 1992 cabby has an oil-water cooler, which will mean it has different hoses than a 1983 hatchback. You'd have to make sure of this.

why not go for standard hoses - what is the added advantage of silicon hoses other that the go-faster colours- seems like a big premium to pay for a bit of under bonnet bling but i may be wrong

go go samco
the main advantage of samco's are the fact they can handle hotter coolant and are much more durable and reliable, well ive never hear'd of sum1 splittin a samco! plus if their the choise for a 1000 bhp skyline over the standard items, plus their motorsport use, world rally champs, touring champ etc it would seem a fair few companies prefer them as to standard pipes
PLUS THEY LOOK LOADS BETTER IN A CLEANED BAY

and there smoother internally so the fluid flows better therefor keeping you cooler

There is no particular performance advantage, they are just a nice colour under the bonnet. Based on stormy's ?30 for a kit, they're cheaper than replacing each hose from the VW Dealer. I am amazed he got that price, I checked on Demon Tweeks and Rally Design and its looking more like ?80-90 for a set.

fitted 3 of the 5 samco yesterday.
the 2 i cldnt get to fit were the the Y shaped on comin off the water pump [ be easier when pump is off/replaced.
and a straight one i couldnt see where it went

there is a major hose that is not in the coolant kit as quoted above.

Gotta set in my shed…
I've just put a set on my mk1. I'll post a pic.
the little straight one goes from the water pump to the metal water pipe… And she's a tight fit. Spot of antifreeze will be needed.

i got a set for my 1600 gti…
the main pipe from the water pump to the head was in the location for a 1.8 head so doesnt fit
the small straight pipe from the pump to the metal pipe has far too small a diameter to fit even when i had the pump off the car so doesnt fit
the y piece bit doesnt seem to be able to go anywhere
so 80 odd quid for 2 hoses i can use and a 7 week wait from teh factory…
ill never buy samco hoses again
