Roll cage
Im planning on fitting a bolt in roll cage into my latest project (83 tintop). Im really struggling to find one though! There is one on evilBay at the moment but its collection only unfortunately. The only other company Ive come across so far is OMP but they want about ?400, alot of dough, which Id rather spend on the engine work than a cage! Any ideas? Also, the bodyshell I will be fitting it to has a factory fit sunroof which I believe is a problem when fitting a full cage?

Hi - I think you can get a Weichers (sp?) one through Venom. Also might be worth contacting this place as their stuff looks nice : http://www.mpsperformance.co.uk/

Those aren't competition rollcages. I'm afraid you will have to pay if you want proper protection. You get what you pay for. OMP cages tend to be a crap fit. Try AAT. They supply a few different German makes. You could try going direct to Germany. Probably cheaper. Even a good custom weld in will cost you around ?350 and they tend to be cheaper than a jig built bolt in cage.

I just sold one for ?100!
Check out the Edition38 for sale section. I'm positive I saw one in there yesterday with some other bits…
As for your sunroof, it has to be a cage for a car with a roof as the roll over hoop is lower to allow it to slide. Unsure if you will actually get a "Proper" cage to accomodate that though… :dontknow:

Last time I looked at getting one no one made them to fit with sun-roof models. I ended up buying safety devices cage second hand and had to lop a section off the main hoop to fit.
If anyone needs front legs and roof bar for safety devices cage let us know. Couldn't be arsed to fit these in the end!

I think motorsport regulations don't allow cars with a sunroof to compete. And since you only really need a cage for motorsport, then the two don't coincide. If its just for show, or to add a bit of body stiffness, then no problems just get a cheap one?

It's OK to have a sunroof as long as it's not glass.

They do you just have to have the roof plated over and riverted in place to keep it rigid
