Hi, i have decided I would like to change my cabby to the early look with the small chrome bumpers. Does anyone have any advice on this? I personally dont see there being to much problems but i am probably nieve lol. Any help appreciated. Thanks

You will be left with a small hole in each wing and rear quarter that will need plating over, also you will need to change the wing mirrors but these are direct fit.You will also be left with holes in the door panels from the mirror adjust jobbies.Your towing eyes are also longer than on a tin top the front one does look a little goofy being a bit longer but i have managed to live with mine so far might shorten it up this year.Only advice i can give is do it do it do it! I never looked back the car looks so clean without the masses of plastic

ahhh ok well it makes me happier since at least its meant to be there. Yeah my problem is that (maybe to some peoples dismay) I am hoping to go for the small chrome bumpers.
Have you ever seen this been done to a clipper or any cabriolet for that matter?
Cheers again for your help Scott.
Hey just saw you had a post about this !!
The plan with mine was to go with the chrome bumpers, but i wasnt sure what to do with the side skirts
+ i couldnt find a good set of oem metal flag mirrors and didnt want cheap ebay rubbish so just put the clipper kit on
Heres 2 that ive seen:
And a couple i had saved on my computer

Do it and you can then send me the clips that hold the kit on as mine are lost when I took the kit off for painting.
Lol. I wonder if the holes in cill match the size for the chrome lower strip that usually goes there. That way the lower holes won't need filling?
Just a thought.
Cheers

glad to see the finished results. Im running mine without any bumpers at the moment whilst preping for paint and already think its an improvement. Can i ask what people did about the spray on stone guard thats under the clipper kit?

This is mine with it partially sanded.
does it ideally need stripping back to bare metal? or could i get away with sanding it smooth then priming?
