hi mate
you need a corsa column not a rack, you need a golf column that is right for your car,you need to cut your column to the right length so your motor will fit in between, then cut your inner shaft, you need to weld golf outer column to inside part of corsa column, weld golf inner shaft to corsa motor shaft, use part of the rear motor bracket and make an adaptor to fit back of the motor to the golf outer column, make a adaptor to conector the rear part of the golf shaft to the rear motot shaft and get it all welded up making sure that the motor is at the right angle not to catch on the bulkhead and the inner and outer shaft/column are the same length as you started, once you have done that you need to fit it ,if it is a mk1 golf a bracket needs removing to make room for the motor, side window demister wants altering i used a 40mm flexable sink waste siliconed in a shortened heater outlet
i stripped my dash out and column and kept trying it in then marked it up in the right position for welding.i made a jig for welding i used the golf column before i cut it up,most of all you need a good welder to weld it up for you,the one i first made was for my sons scirocco
hope it makes sence?

hi fastgolf used a corsa c motor,a awful lot of car mods, with the corsa b you only mod the column and bolt it in and wire it up 4 wires

Yep sorry, typo there...its a corsa b collumn....so is it a case of repositioning and drilling new fixing points? i take it the only mod then is possabily on the lower steering joint?does it need to be made longer/shorter/or is it bang on perfect? How about the stalks...do they go on easy? Its prob gonna be more st8 forward when all out...but i just need a heads up if i need to order/source anything else or the car wont be able to be moved. Any pics Jetta

hi there is no drilling at all, there is no mods at all to the lower steering joint, only thing you alter is the column,i have no exact
mesurments at the moment, but if you position the motor about 210mm from the end of the outer column to the face of the motor that a good place to start, measure the ammount the inner shaft sricks out before you start and cut it to suit then make the rear part the same size as before you started, you will need to get a adaptor made for the rear of the motor, the overall length of the outer column/and inner shaft need to be the same as you started with the same sticking out as you started with i have a couple of photos  of a completed one but do not know how to put them on the forum, what car are you going to fit it on? every thing fits back stalks and all,it is just like changing you original column like for like but with a motor in the middle,be sure every thing is in line and runs true and is welded up correct, you will need to use some form of packing between to golf shaft and corsa shaft to take up the size differance also with the front outer column and corsa inner column with the flange that bolts to the motor, get your self a spare golf column and work on that make sure that it is the same as they are differant mki golf differant than later mk1 cab brake light switch, have you stripped you corsa column down yet?
if so i will tell you the parts you need to keep

Thanks for the approx guide and the pic lads (had to look at that a few times but kinda get what u mena now) I'm yet to strip back the corsa collumn but looks easy enough.

Dash is out on the golf so shouldnt take long to remove. Plan is to crack on this weekend - It will be going into my 83 GTI if that makes any difference collumnwise.

In terms of what i have….well heres the bits i bought:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320583131678&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT
(I know paid tooo much, me local scrappy was cheaper, but eh!)

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170525030802&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

Will give it a quick wire up and test on a battery, but should hopefully do the trick.
