Porsche 924 engine????

Hi Folks,

Would the Audi 1984cc engine EA831 (also used in Porsche 924, and LT van) fit into a mk 1 golf?!

Cheers,

Mal

you can get a 4 cylinder 924 engine, from a van!!! look at pic. I would say with the distributer on the end of the cam would make the unit too long. But the only way to prove it is with a tape i suppose.

Hi Folks,

Nice looking engine- thanx for the pix.  that is the engine I was mentioning- 4 cyl.  I've got this type of engine in my LT camper- not quite as quick as the Porsche tho!

mk1 golf with a 928 engine

'Here?s an immaculate example of an extremely rare model. The car is actually more Porsche than VW. It?s a hybrid, created by Artz, using a widened Mk1 Golf shell and a Porsche 928. Check the V8-powered Golf compared to a standard version'

never heard of a widened mk1 golf before, obviously not a weekend job. listen to the v8!

That picture actually looks more like the Porshe 944 which is half of a Porsche 928 motor and totally not compatable. The Porsche 924 actually used a VW block. But you'd be better off to up date to a 1.8 GTI or a 2.0 16V motor. There are lots more avaliable for these engines.
