Pics Please!! And Wiring Info
Hi Guys,
Has anyone who's done 16v conversion got any pics of the engine mount on the belt end?
I'm just starting out on the conversion myself on a Driver so I will be moving the mount to get the engine in and I was hoping for a couple of pics so I can get a good idea of where the mount needs to be moved to.
When I got the engine it came with the MK2 wiring loom and the fuse box. What would be best? Use the new loom and fuse box or try and mate up the old loom? Will I need to use MK2 clocks if I use the new loom?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks.

no need for the fuse box.
just put the new ecu in place, and any wiring from that to the engine, thats all!

Thanks G60RGE. Hopefully it sounds like it will be a 'bit' easier than first expected.

That would be true but i dont think hes starting with a gti which would make things abit mor complicated. tbh theres alot more work when starting with a driver as the gti runs on k jet already most of the wiring is already there ie csv, wur etc Theres absolutely loads of info on the clubgti forum as one of the members (mk1 driver) converted his driver to a 16v and he has put up detailed information on everything he did.

When you move the engine mount, you cant go wrong, it slots into the pre-pressed groove in the chassis rail.
You'll know what i mean when you try it.
