Unless you've gone mental with the engine go for 256mm Audi calipers and late 16V Mk2 disks. Coupled with a Passat servo you'll notice the difference ! (Beware though - most Audi calipers won't fit - I've posted a checklist in the past)
Bug reminds me of my old one - loadsa welding !  Would like another at some point though ………

Cheers,
Mark

Mine uprated, I got passat servo/master cylinder, I assume MK2 rear discs/calipers?

Stops nice although I need to do discs and pads so I'm sure it could be a lot better!

Worth fitting Goodrich hoses too if you haven't already

Brakes

You can use your existing calipers (assuming they are VW Type II) in Audi 90 caliper carriers (hens teeth) and Mk2 16v 256mm vented discs.  If thats not enough, TSR were doing a 285mm conversion which apparently did NOT use 280mm discs but basically spaces the caliper even further from the wheel centre on a customer calipoer carrier bracket.
