Need bit of help with 2l idea!

Hey everyone i've got a 2e block that i'm going to mate up to my injection cyclinder head (its a dz engine is that right??) But basically i'm contemplating having the head skimmed a few thou just to raise the compression abit while i save and look for a big valve head on the cheap. I just want to know if its safe to do so, and about how much to have skimmed off. If anybody has done this i'd really appreciate your input. Also i suppose clearance issues will the valves hit the pistons i'm not sure what the clearance situation is like!  :dontknow:

I think its a dz not dx head like i see alot on here as were sure its actually an audi 80 sport engine in it, was told exactly same as golf one tho! any help wold be apprciated.

mate ive got a dx, its a late cab , ive never heard of a golf engine with a dz code  tho I AM REGULARLY WRONG! :lol:

i do know that a 2e block fits to a dx head but i dont know about skimming tolerances, theres quite abit on 2l conversions on here, have u done a search for that?

im sure someone will be along whos more knowledgable about this kind of thing

Cheers boys ye i think its a DX head really but its from an Audi 80 sport so marked as DZ anyon else shine any light on the skimming??

My mate has just had his head skimmed for ?45.00 . The engine shop skimmed off the correct amount for his needs so i would say your best bet is to take it too the skimmers and see what they have to say .
