my golf pics what people think

started out like this 5 years ago when i was 15 bought for ?50 mot failure of a mate who always said to me you will never get it back on the road. failed on on suspension brakes exhaust and a few other lil bits and bobs not alot though :D

1st night in the golf 2days after my 18th birthday, 1st things first went round to my mate who i bought it of to show him i get her back on the road, next stage was to drive it for a few months then bring her back of the road for a engine conversion then a respray in jet black.

matt black all the way untill ive finishd my engine conversion then in the bodyshop she goes! :D:D

side view of her with the bbs kit on smoothed sides

engine bay cleaned up with lower strutbrace fitted (what a game this was to fit :banghead: ) and doing all my engine mounts red steering linkages red

heres my engine half built up, port polished 1800 mk2 head (carb not gti) big valves GTi camshaft, 2litre bottom end running the mk2 gti flywheel and a mk1 gti gear box :D (thanks to all the people on her who have pointed me in the right direction!  :y: ) the manifold is painted red with vht paint untill i get her on the road and take her down to a local exhaust engineering firm for some discounted 4-2-1 manifold and straight through stainless system.

comments welcome good or bad, at the end of the day everyones got there own tastes. my taste is discreet body kit, slammd, just some nice wheels nothing that makes it stand out as i like street sleepers and dont like being pulled over every 5minutes by police.

im looking at a couple all ready, so you never know this one might b up for grabs sooner then i think, im going to try and get the engine in this weekend coming, all i need is the drivers side engine mount (cambelt side bolts on to block) if anyone can help me out. but ive only got space for one car to store at a time, so if a cabbi comes up cheap then this one will have to go :tlc:

looking good! leave off the bumpers!

Just wondering… I was thinking of buying a lower front strut brace and wanted to know why yours was difficult to fit? The front of my car is a bit bent thanks to the previous owner :x and so its gonna be even worse for me.

Keep up the good work.

where it bolts to the chassis leg at the bottom, with the wishbone bolt.

over time as its like a 20 odd year old car the chassis legs have moved even ferther apart due to the metal sagging and bending if you know what i mean??

but its nothing serious its only like 2 or 3 mm but this is enough to put one bolt hole out of alignment and you have to pull the leg back in to get the bolt, ive fittd one on my mates cabbi, it went straight on, mine was a bit harder, just cross your fingers and hope yours wont have saggd that much lol

simon

p.s. leaving the bumpers of as i think it looks mean
