Mul-T-Lock in a MK1?

Anyone ever fitted a Mul-T-Lock into a MK1 before? Definitely need to upgrade the security of mine and this is something I'm looking into. Multilock site has no info on them, were they ever available for a MK1 or are there universal types? Cheers, Andy.

Are these the gear lever locks???

There's the bracket for one in my dad's car - looks rubbish, gets in the way of the passenger seat.

They're probs universal - just weld the bracket to the tunnel??

use to have one on my mk3. there not actually that effective, spoke to a lad i know who use to pinch cars  :?  he said all you do is disconnect the gear lever lift it out bend the multi lock out of the way pop gear stick back in and your away. if they wanna pinch it they will  :dontknow: .

Ah well, maybe not then!    

Could use a hidden fuel cut off switch or just take the rotor arm out when you leave the car?

Bit of hassle but I'd be surprised if your average opportunist car thief had the correct one  8)
