MK1 Engine Conversion

Hi I?m looking for a bit of advise, used to have a Mk1 Golf many years ago, but out grew the car and moved onto bigger and better. I?ve recently decided to purchased a Project Mk1 GTi and I?m looking to convert it in a big way.

Back in the day the done thing was the G40 and G60 engines, heard a few whispers about 1.8t from the TT being the current weapon of choice. I?m looking for some information as to the any companies out there doing the conversions to the 1.8t or even any suggestions on other mk1 engine conversions. Answers on a postcard

Get to WH Smiths and buy GOLF+ , VW Performance and any other VW mag you can find for the best answer . You will find out more by reading over a few months what can be done and how , look on Google for web sites on modification for VW . It can be done , and has been but you need too do your own research and the above mags are a great source of reference , plus you can buy back issues .

Hope you have a big wallet   Good luck ……..

Check out TSR-Performance Ltd they've been doing what you describe for years. Sure they do a 1.8 Turbo conversion, but as Chudd says get your wallet out 8O

Your Golf!

Hey

I think i know a bit of the histroy of that car. well i know the guy who put it together. They used to call it 'Iced Gem', it was put together by VW Perfection. The guy who 'sorted' it is called stephan and  it used to be the 'Loudest Mk1 1' ever. I think it has been beaten since then tho!

If you want i can find out more about it routes if you want!
