mk1 brakes, scirrocco callipers and 280mm discs

well basically as title says ive got a set of scirroco callipers, 280mm g60 discs and adaptor brackets for my mk1. problem is something doesnt seem right and when there all bolted up theres only space to get 1 pad in???

im not sure if its something obvious im doing wrong or if this combination of scrap doesnt actually work together?

if anyone has this set up or any pics of it fitted this would be great as it seams like one step forward, 10 back as usual!!
