Mk1 20v 1.8T Oil Buzzer, Rev counter, Temp Gauge, Fuel Gauge
Hey guys. I just wondered if anybody know about this! I have finished my 1.8T Mk1 Cabriolet but still a few little issues. When you boost it up quite hard, the oil buzzer buzzes. Do i need a T Piece and some bridged Pressure switches? Rev counter reads inaccurate. 0.2 revs on tick over? Do i need a resistor or something wired in? Fuel gauge reads 3/4 full when full. Do i need to pull the thing from under the back seat and persuade accordingly? Also, my tem guage does nothing. Haven't looked at it though. Should i be looking out for anything? Many thanks.

oil pressure you should remove the mk4 switch and the blanking plug, then fit both mk1/2 low and high switches.
rev counter you need this:

level sender may be duff but you can try tweaking it a little.
temp gauge should work but some say a 33k resistor is needed

Just completed my mk1 20v
for the rev counter you need a Tacho driver, buy one from here Home of the Emerald K6 aftermarket standalone ECU
for temp guage you need a resistor, speak to the company i linked for the tacho driver im sure they will sell you one
fuel gauge im guessing you have a dodgy sender as the 20v would not of effected this
Oil pressure, get rid of the mk4 one and fit both mk1 senders
pretty much what Jonny said tbh

will that tacho driver work with OEM ECU? asi ti states its from the emerald ecu. its a fair bit cheaper than the MSD alternative

or you could use one of these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/120758887212?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
When you say your water temp guage doesnt work what do you mean? as mine works ok but shoots up really quickly and goes way past 90 degrees. How ever i dont have a fan plugged in at the moment, so could this be causing it to do this?

depends on how you made your loom! the mk4 loom has only 1 wire on the 2nd half of the loom. when i make them i splice 1 pressure wire to that, and run the 2nd wire from the fusebox direct to the sensor on the 1st part of the loom.
also if its a really early mk1 they only have the 1 pressure wire
