KR Wiring - Ceramic Fuse

Post

Hi all, cracking on with a KR conversion from a 1600. Bought a KR that was in a Mk1, but the loom is adapted to run on blade type fuse box. This leaves me with the options of either:

a) Taking car to an auto-electrician who would splice adapted engine loom with my 1600 engine loom

or

b) Rewiring whole car to accommodate adapted loom.

Would much prefer to go with option a. Would most auto-electricians be able to sort out the splicing for me or are they likely to run a mile?

i would rather fit the later blade fusebox as the older ceramic fusebox is a huge pile o cack.

but adapting a kr loom to ceramic fusebox is dead simple as underneath it all its basically the same wiring loom as the 1600 gti, you just have an isv control unit on top plus the ecu loom. these dont actually run to the fusebox anyway so simple to drop onto a ceramic fusebox gti loom.

basically, strip them both down and compare, you'll soon see what needs doing!

Thanks for your help mate, auto electrian is having a crack at it. He didn't seem to phased by it which is a good sign.
