I need help before I torch it.

Hi guys, been battling a starting issue with my 20vt mk1 for over a year now. 

Basically it won't start very easily. 
I will eventually fire but usually on the 3rd long turn of the key. 
Have replaced the starter, coolant temp sensor, plugs, coils, cleaned up all earths, re-done timing belt. 

It does sound/act like the timing is not quite true but I have checked it again and again.

Can you offer any help? Or better still are you anywhere near Edinburgh and fancy a quick look?

It runs the Qpeng mbe 992 ect with loom ect.

I am ready to torch it.
