I'm having problem problem with my 16v :(
Right a little history…..
I've recently done a 16v conversion on my mk1 (1.8 kr) it has a full stainless Supersprint system on it, it has had a wiring loom made and fitted, timed up and runs
Recently I noticed that there was a misfire with the engine, so I changed the plugs and leads which has sorted that situation (i think) seems to be ok so far, but the worst part is that now I've noticed there is a pretty bad oil leak, but I can't see where it's coming from, it seems to be coming from high up on the engine I,e the head, but the thing is I've had the head off and had it skimmed
And change valve stem seals, also change head gasket before all of this :/
The oil doesn't seem to be pouring out, and if I leave the car on tick over I can't see the leak, it's basically if I take it for a spin and get back then the engine and everything around it is coated in oil
Also I thort I'd take it for a spin earlier cuz just wanted to drive it cuz haven't for a while, and I dnt know if it's me but it doesn't seem to have as Much power anymore
Is there anyone that might know anything on this, I.e common problems with 16v's or have any idea on this
Please help![:(](https://vwgolfmk1.org.uk/themes/default/images/ocf_emoticons/sad.png)

most likely the rocker gasket, they are a bugger for it. when you fit a new one use gasket sealaint in the corners of the humps over the cam sprocket/dizzy, alsdo a bit round the half moon pieces. otherwise they never seal right. use proper stuff, vw specify the same sealant as used for the sump on later models (i.e. 20v)

no this wouldnt effect it, unless maybe the inner seal has gone too and is drowning your spark plugs. but you would have seen all the oil when you swapped the spark plugs.
next step is double check the timing
