I use to run one, what would you like to know?

Tips wise, don't buy the cheapo ones off ebay as the y shatter at the first sign of anything. bite the bullet and buy original vag. Also, remove your bumper and this will be a millions times easiser to do.

you'll need to cut the spoiler at the curving point of your cabbie bumper in little V shapes so it bends at a smooth angle. sorry, rubbish descpition but then it is late!

You have two options for the length, either clip it together in the middle as it would be originally and cut it to fit at the wheel arch or align it at the arch and cut it in the middle.

Some of the lugs will fit into your bumper but others will need trimmed off.

Heres a few pics of mine fitted.

The cheap ones are totally rubbish. I broke mine trying to fit it.

Bonrath ones are now like rocking horse poo. I got hold of one last year from germany. fit and finish is ok, not perfect.

Still not sure I like the damn thing either, don't sit right at the sides, lookin like a bit of work ahead.  8O

Projekt Frustration :

White 1991 Clipper. Lowered over polished zender rims, Single 40 dellorto on lynx manifold, kent cam, full stainless 'zorst / manifold, powerflex bushed and braced. Not the fastest car, but sounds super nice!

Still going after 12 years… never said it was a quick fix! Time is not my friend.

Same here, thats why mines now off and being replaced with one of these… a mk2 one!

But if you still fancy a VR one go for a genuine one from vag, they flex and take the pounding really well, the cheapo GSF/GPC ones just shatter and crack at the first sign of anything nasty in the road.

nice one, that looks well, so where did you get the mk2 one from and how much work??

Been thinking of that myself, much more in keeping with the car.

Well I got my one free as a mate had one in his garage and owed me a favour. VW may still have them but I haven't checked.

It fits well except for the gap in the middle. Its hard to tell in the pic as the gap is under that number plate.
I've got a smoothed front bumper as well so I could have done the same but I just got another half and cut a small filler section to fit in the middle and form a base for my number plate holder.

As its from a square bumper already it fits the shape of the clipper bumper really well, just the gap to sort out.

If I get the chance I'll get some pics and sort out a how to or something.
