Gearshift :(
Hi guys,
I'm having a bit of a mission trying to reduce the throw of my mk1!
It's running a 1.8t with a g60 cable/ hydro clutch.
The gear change is sooo long, and not very positive.
Now I have been told I need a selector from a vw golf gti mk4 5 speed? Shifter from another cable change car, and shorter cables.
Any idea of the exact parts parts required?
Cheers

depends where you want to run the shifter.
mk4 shifter with its cables will go underneath car
polo shifter the cables are shorter and wont reach if mounted underneath. but fit nicely ontop of tunnel with cables going the bulkhead. just what you perfer. i like my shifter high. and plus room for a big exhaust

OK, I'm getting there now.
I want to run the shifter under the car, and I want a short positive gear selection.
So from what you are saying is O2A box, O2J gear rod, and a TT selector with Mk4 cables…
Is the dreaded "bay" the answer for these?
