gearboxes

hi lads just thinking of starting a project a mk1 golf with a 2.0 16 in with a big turbo possibly a gt3071r interneal wastegate and 82comp wheel i am just looking into what sort of gearboxes there is around that i could use ie  qauife  par  ppg   possibly a straight cut dog box or maybe a gearkit depending on what they are rated to

if you're going for serious power, 200bhp+, i'm afraid a cable change box is the only way to go. They're a bit of hassle to fit in a MK1 because not only are they mounted differently but they're also hyraulically operated.

It's been done using either Corrado or Passat parts but it requires alot more ingenuity than using a cable change box in a MK2. There are Quiffe ATB diffs availiable for them too. I think i'll be using a set up from a G60 for my conversion but that's a little while away.
