Gearbox clutch not working need help ! ! Desparate ! !
Need help, ive got a gti fitted with a KR and a 1.6 gearbox, it ran great but after a while the clutch started to slip (190mm clutch). Took the gearbox off and found that the seals were passing and getting oil on the clutch. Rather than mess about I had all new seals fitted and decided to refit it with a new 210mm clutch so I got a mk2 flywheel and sachs clutch kit, fitted it all and the clutch now doesn't work. If you pull the lever on the gearbox it moves very freely like the actuation shaft isn't fitted or is too short !
Any ideas what I can do….. Fed up of the bl00dy thing now spent all day putting it back together !
Thanks in advance

clutch probs
If you take the green end cover off of the back of the gearbox check to see if the fork has cracked which holds the bearing as it has been known in which the fork will slip on the spline and then not push the rod to work the clutch.

Thanks for that…. sounds reasonable, it worked when i took it off but i suppose the lever could have been knocked during installation which could shear it……bummer
Can you still get the end caps, just read haynes and it says to puncture it to remeove?

clutch probs
If you are carefull you can get them off without to much damage with a small flat screwdriver like taking off a paint tin lid and then you can tap it back into shape and re-fit it
