G60 brakes under 15" cups???

Hey does anyone know if 280mm G60 disc's and calipers will fit under 15inch ATS cup alloy wheels?

How much spacer do you need? Do you think you could grind the calliper so that the wheel fits over it? Like i did on my friends mk4 R32 with audi RS4 brakes and 18" wheels.Yes i ground down the ?1200 callipers with a die grinder! Scary shit!

Problem with the ATS cup is they are a backwards wheel.To briefly explain the well of the wheel used to fit/remove tyres is near the inside rim rather than the usual outside rim,so you have the wheel upside down when fitting tyres.Most wheels are the outside up when fitting tyres,this makes the inner diameter of the cups much smaller than most usual alloys

im not using g60 calipers my set up is

g60 discs
vectra calipers
bolts from chrismk1van

and they dont fit under ats cups even with 20mm spacers :mrgreen:

i looked into this, for normal g60 set up i was told that the et20 wheels "should" clear….but I never tried it.

ben watch the offsets dude, and the spacer size  8O you will end up out side the body work which is a no no, the handling will e shot, and you will monster wheel bearings..

M7R i know what you mean about spacers ive made a bit of a change to my set up now going to use 16v discs and vaux calipers to match so one size down

as i want to keep the 15s tbh it handles very well as is so dont want to ruin it by sticking 16s on the car

my car has 15" intra alloys that are a very similar shape to ats cups, i've converted to the 280mm set up from the corrado but i had to grind a hell of a lot off the callipers. The brakes seem to work fine i used them very gingerly at first and gradually got the confidence to give em some pasty and they seem fine but i should probably test them on a proper brake tester

i didnt want to grind them tbh as i would have been to take alot off :lol:  plus the last thing i want is a caliper to snap when im trying to stop from warp 9 :lol:

had a moment at santapod where i didnt think id make the exit road but did and my brakes were awful after and even worse now

the ats cups are a weird wheel ill get a pic at the weekend of the inside so you can all see they taper in loads near bolting face weird :dontknow:

ppllleeaasseee tell me you are kidding!??!?!?! I work in vehicle safety! do you have any idea just how stupid this is?!?!?  :banghead:  dare we ask which bits you have butched? any pics? i very very strongly advise you get some normal un molested calipers on there and get a proper wheel set up!  :roll:  if you need help with the offsets etc let me know im ore than happy to help anyway I can, but what you have at the mo is dangerous and illegal and will make your inurance void.
