engine question again. lupo gti engine into mk1
been thinking about doing this and been told i can fit this engine on the standard golf driver mounts apart from gearbox one.
is this true and what mounts could i use to get the gearbox fitted with either 5 or 6 speed box
heard the fly by wire might be awkward to fit because of the mk1 pedal box being in the way.
plus how much would stand alone system cost me for this? nothing to crazy though
would i need clocks, ecu, wiring loom etc.
been told the driveshafts can be used aswel but not sure whether they mean the golf ones or the lupo ones :dontknow:

You have to make your own mount if you change to anything other than the 4 speed. If you can fabricate and weld, then you'll be OK. Read the thread on the TDi conversion. It's links to another forum where someone stuck a later diesel with fly by wire into a caddy. Just copy what he's done with the pedal. Alternatively go for a megasquirt ecu and fit a cable to the throttle body. If 100mm flanges can be fitted to the gearbox, you can use the cabby driveshafts, which seem to be OK for 1.8T conversions.
