conversion

hi can ne body help me? i have a mk 1 golf driver and have put in a kr 16v corrado engine into it. the engine is in now but dont no about the petrol side of it. wot do i need and were do i put it all? could do wiv some help. has ne body done the same conversion in a mk 1 driver cheers martyn

Being an expert… here's my super technical run-down…

Drivers generally don't come with a fuel pump (situated near the fuel tank on the underside of the car). GTI's do have these.

So, get one of those to push fuel to the bay. If your using injection just use all that from the 16v or get hold of it if it didn't come with your engine.
Or if you're going for carbs get a pressure regulator and set it to about 2 or 3 psi before running it to your carbs.

I'm running carbs so i just needed the low pressure pump. I got lazy and put my facet red top fuel pump in the bay (dangerous in a crash , squirty fuel everywhere… argh help it burns) but who cares… I drive it on average about twice a year! But I didn't have to crawl around on my arse under the car to fit it.
