Best 16 valve exhaust?

Ashley, Jetex, Supersprint?  Want a good throaty sound.  Has anyone experienced Larini systems?

not sure there is a best tbh. The vast majority of exhaust make various claims but hardly any are actually 'tuned' to engines, especialy for 16V mk1s!

Ignore most claims related to whether they're 2.5 or 2.25" bore, most manifolds restrict it more than that anyway. (I know the outlet of the Ashley 16V mk1 manifold is 2.25", so any 2.5" bore further down the system is a bit  :roll: .

Have heard very good things about supersports and jetexs from some of the 16v mk1 boyos on CGTI, theres usually some sound advice on there, althougth its shut down at the moment.

Personally on a mk1 i'd be happy with a mild steel exhaust, i'm running one of unknown origin at the moment.

I have looked at gettinga a jetex race spec one myself (mild steel i believe)  :dontknow:. either that or go for an ashley as I havent yet to be persuaded properly that others are all that they claim to be.

I dont think you'll go wrong with any of the ones you mention! the 'fit' may not be so good with the ashley, but for the price saving fair play.
