bam engine help

hi new to this forum, got a bit of a project mk1 gti n the go and a bam engine has come up through a friend and im very very tempted ive been doing a bit of reading up on this and done some searching but not answered all my questions so here goes, what exactly will i need off the donor car other than the engine, im going to be running one of the quantum ecus, reading up am i right in saying a 02j box is good to use? i want to try and keep this as cheap as poss really, so just wondered what else i should know? cheers.

What's a BAM engine please?

1.8T engine from an Audi TT. 225bhp as standard. It should be fitted with a K04 turbo.

Yes o2j box is a good choice, we have just finished a bam conversion on my automatic 78 gls so if you need any info ask away!

nice one i will bear that in mind just gathering info on what i need off the donor car my friend says he has a tt coming in to his work for salvage, but to be honest he is a bit unreliable so we will see what comes of it, i just know if it does come round i will prob have very little time to get the bits i want of the car. even so ive got the mindset of a 1.8t engine now, the bug has bit. :?

the main question is you keeping it drive by wire or throttle cable converstion thanks
