I found the rear bench (bottom) is a lot narrower than the body, so I'm gonna fabricate some panels/carpet to cover the 4-5 inch gap either side.
The rear backs sit in (just) but as the bench is not as deep as the standard mk1's, the backs are about 4 inches forward of the existing quick release points on the front of the rear arches. So a beam or something will have to be put across the arches to hold the backs forward, OR the whole back seat assembly could be shifted backwards in the car.
The front TT seats I have include the subframe and runners and are TOTALLY different to the existing mk1 setup. I found the TT seats/frame can't really be bolted straight to the floor as there is a beam running across the floor towards the front of the seats, which would interfere with moving the seat backwards/forwards. SO, I reckon they would have to be raised somehow off the floor on some new runners?
The stock interior is back in for the time being while I figure this one out! A mate has a mk1 tintop with a TT interior fitted, so I will try to get some pics/info up on here asap. If anyone else succeeds, let me know!

And what did you do for the fronts? The pics you've posted suggest you've welded a piece of metal just aft of the floor beam and raised the seat with some kind of spacer - is it safe?

Have they been disarmed???
If not you risk them going off and sending you somewhere unpleasant. Like a ditch.

I'd be more worried about the side impact airbags…

I know this is an old thread but how do you remove the charge from the airbag? I am putting in some TT seats soon.
Does the airbag not need power from the car to go off ie not plugging it in should be fine?
