are universal backbox's any good, opinions please

hi

i just bought a mk1 cab and looking for an aftermarket exhaust but am very limited on tailpipe design so i'm considering a universal backbox from somebody like magnex.

anybody using/used one??  or have an opinion on them??

ok for a bit of noise and looks but nothing else :wink:

Wouldn't bother - You will end up cutting pipes which won't fit together properly and will not seal right either. Been there and done it - Trust me…  :roll:

pants with stains in . im runnin a jetex aluminized system fits well and gave good performance gains . power flow are soiled pants too . so dont bother with them . (in my opinion)

yea go for a all ready made one with a 4-3-2 manifold and u willnotice improvements! i HATE powerflow, but on the other hand there is a place calld www.customchrome.co.uk or it might be www.custom-chrome.co.uk, they do custom full proper stainless exhausts and they do the manifolds to!! there work is really sh*t hot and real good quality if u live local to one of them on the website might b worth poping down, and there after sales is excellent! they make all the custom exhausts for the kit cars the ones with the side exits like catterhams and that, real good blokes!
