so you now have about one inch of suspension travel left, all the joints are working at angles they were never designed to. might look good but not really very clever. still its your car.

people also make the mistake of thinking, the lower the suspension, the better the handling. very much not the case. for the reasons described above.

I've just had a look at mine, I've lowered it 80mm and I still have plenty of clearance there, but its going to be one of the first areas of contact (others to watch for are the driver's side driveshaft and obviously, tyre with wing and/or suspension strut). I'd say (assuming the geometry between your car and mine is the same) that you have in fact lowered it around 110-120mm, so yes to go any lower you'd need to use those balljoint extenders. I vaguely remember seeing them in a thread by woZa.
At some point you're going to be in a situation where your exhaust centre section is so low, it cannot clear even the mildest bump. And also your GTI spoiler will be hitting the ground soon. And more importantly, the sump isn't that far away from the spoiler, for height off the ground.
PS might sound obvious, but remember when you're lowering, you also need to leave a little for the actual suspension travel!

Be prepared for the CV joint, Bearing, Exhaust, and most importantly Sump bills.
I struggle with clearance on 14"s (w/ 45 profiles), I always wonder how people on 13"s get anywhere!
