AGU manifold

I think you need to be a bit clearer as you have stated in your title that its an AGU manifold you have and then you go on to talk about an AUG, not sure if this is even an engine code for the 20vt.

But anyway, i'll assume your talking about the AGU manifold, this is the engine I am using and if it is the earlier item it will be a cable throttle, which is what you need, as opposed to the drive by wire which would be difficult to fit imo. As far as I know all the 20vt throttle bodies should be interchangeable.

Hi Jeeversfaf.. :D
Lol AUG..?? thats an 020 gearbox int it..?? my bad, sorry i made things sound more confusing, i'll start from the beginning…

I have an AEB 20vt out of audi a4 which is a big port version like AGU and also cable throttle.. to make her work/fit i have to change some parts for transverse type, the manifold being one of them.. I'v purchased a manifold said to be AGU i'm going to polish it up and before i put all that hard work i jst want to make sure it's the right one plus really the main thing that the port sizes are the same..

Hope that's a little clearer..??

Thanks Shaun

I've not looked that closely at an AEB engine, but I would think that the AGU manifold would fit on the head, as for the throttle body that should fit too. I take it you have the late drive by wire throttle body on your AGU manifold then?

I think the engines them selves are very similar apart from manifolds, turbo, cambelt end engine mount and gearbox…?
If it is AGU manifold it will be cable throttle and fit, I jst want to be certain it's AGU..
Part number would be great help..

Thanx Shaun

It get's even more confusing..???? FFS lol
The part number given to me by audi is 06A 133 201 K superseeded by 06A 133 201 SS…
BUT..!! the manifold i have has the part number of 06A 133 223 P… and VW, Audi, Seat, Skoda have no record of it… WTF.!!!
As if thing's arnt mind bending enough…. hahaha
It fits and looks right, not sure on port sizes tho.?
Any clues out there…???

Thanx Shaun

AEB and AGU are both large port head engines and cable throttles, measure the port on the manifold, they should be the same, if its a small port manifold you'll know easily as the is a fair bit of difference in port size.

Hello..

Digging up abit of an old thread of mine but rather than stating a new one..

I have the manifold now mounted but! I offered the AEB throttle body up and it fouls the alternator.. so i got an AGU T/B but that's exactly the same..

Anyone out there know what T/B works best??

Should work fine with inlet and AGU throttle body, I have done one with a full AGU engine and it works fine, sounds like the alternator mounting could be different on your engine, what alternator & mounting are you using, one off the AEB or off a transverse engine?

Thanx mrpurple, good to know that is whats used :D

I'm using the AEB alternator and bracket with the A/C cut off..

I finally found a thread this morning with a similar prob (AEB Conversion) whos going on to shave some off the alternator for clearence.. Quit a lot of info in it regarding the AEB conversion..
