i also seem to recall you will want to use the crankshaft pulley and alternator bracket from an abf, two types of alternator bracket the best one to use has the spring type tensioner the other type is in the picture above
think i might be hitting this prob?? my throttle body fouls with the alternator, about 5mm ish… at the min i'm contemplating shaving some off both???

normal mk3 1.8-2.0 is same fitment to the block, and has 3 oil tappings in it. assume tdi has an extra one for oil feed? if you only need 2 tappings for pressure switches then the normal mk3 one should be ok

ill look into it smokey cheers man
think its the right shape with correct fittings johny however i thought it was a mk4 unit which was needed. i did however get a mk3 one today it does fit the block but the oil feed bolt from aeb is fatter on a different thread ive tapped the top tapping to accept the aeb feed and it seems ok so hope it'll work lol
