Accumulator do i need one?

Hi all doing a g60 conversion do i need a fuel Accumulator?

its a cab if it makes any difference.

I thought the accumulator was a requirement of the k-jet system while i thought the g60 used Electronic Fuel Injection.

Oh you could be right… Didn't even think about the fuel injection type.  :oops: Would have still thought it would run an accumulator of some sort though.

What fuel pump are you using? As I understand things, the higher pressure requirement of mech FI means that the pump is a different/stronger design than an EFI pump (power pressure requirement) but it 'pulses' the pressure rather than delivering it smoothly. The accumulator is there to smooth the pressure variations out. Of course, you can use a K-Jet pump to feed an EFI car and it will happily pump at a lower pressure, whether it still pulses (or negligibly) at whatever fuel pressure you're going to run at, is what will make the accumulator required.

So I'd say probably yes.

i run my 20vt with the standard k-jet pump and no accumilator and its fine.
