A4 1.8T into mk1?

I hear alot of talk about the A3 engine going into a mk1, but could anybody enlighten me on the facts of a A4 engine, can this go in>? does it use as i read in one place the original mounts? Gearbox info etc.
It would be great to get this advise, as along side my golf i now have a P-reg 1.8T A4.
An i would hope it could be of use, if it is an there a genius here, could you give me some kind of run down of the methods used an maybe extra parts needed.
Thx

the A4 engine is mounted longitudely where as the golfs, etc are transverse.
You will need transverse inlet manifold to fit it to a mk1, which may cost a few quid, not sure what other ancilleries are different.
