you need to check the engine number a 3a blocks number starts 3a! think 94 is the change year to the tall block 2e engine number k plate 2.0l's are normally a safe bet to b 3a

The engine number should be stamped on the block itself usually on the front between number 1&2 cylinders .

Should be dropping in the 2.0 after I finish Uni. Hopefully I can get her resprayed and drop the new engine in. I cant wait! :D

Should be like a new car :)

It's all about the head work Jon

Nice to hear you're up for it Geezer.

Racer… yours is probably going to be lightest cos im keeping mine standard body and interior.

Guess I'll have to try hard in the engine department… still ongoing.

If its going to be that close I'll empty washer fluid, my glove box, take the fascia off my stereo, remove the tool kit , spare wheel, give her a hoover, wash and polish the outside for aerodynamics, put the thinest grade oil in, I'll go to the toilet and then drive naked! Beat that! 8O

Us 8V boys are hardcore…. 16v is cheating…. what you want is a nice BIG 8V for grunt

MK1 8v vs MK1 16v Showdown.
N/A only….
Maybe we could do it in Teams of say 5…
Make a good mag feature I recon.

What dya think? :dontknow:

I bet the carb boys would love it! I'm sticking to K-jet for now… then maybe a crossflow big valve head with throttle bodies and mapable ignition for future investment.

I'm sure we could get the numbers. Maybe the likes of PVW would be interested?
